Description
This unique apartment (built circa 1770) above the entrance gate of a castle, is located in the heart of a typical small village with a few provisions. Time appears to have stood still in the village. There are numerous older ladies of respectable ages who exchange the latest gossip on the village squares, while their husbands indulge their passion for jeu de boules a bit further along. When turning the key in the vast front door of this special apartment, you immediately sense the holiday atmosphere. It should be noted that the entrance, via a monumental stone stair, is not suitable for persons with limited mobility.In the apartment there are many original details which hark back to the historic past, such as beams, niches, the stone spiral staircase and the open fireplace in the kitchen. You can enjoy the exciting vistas from the various windows in the thick stone walls. The local Languedoc wines are wonderful to enjoy indoors, but also on the terrace which looks out onto one of the numerous village squares. You dont have to look far for culinary offerings: there are restaurants in nearly all of the communities, and you can find numerous regional products in the region, such as the wonderful "huîtres de Bouzigues", which are prefect with a glass of Picpoul de Pinet.The wines can also be bought in the village, and in the nearby villages, because the region offers the products from various vintners. The town of Béziers is located less than 15 minutes drive away, and has many small streets with surprising shops. In the summer, the town offers various events and concerts which you can attend without having to drive hours back home. The accessibility of the town is fantastic. Furthermore, within a half hour's drive you can enjoy the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, and there are many leisure activities nearby, such as the towns of Narbonne, Montpellier, Carcassonne, the lakes in the hinterland, walking and cycling routes in "The land of the Cathars" or in the beautiful nature rich "Gorges d'Héric". In short, a special holiday home in a lovely location!If the tenant's stay is longer than one week linen package will be charged on a weekly bases.
