Château d'Aix was named after its founder Bernard d’Ays who settled in the castle in the thirteenth century. The castle was always the home of nobility and in the past contained hundreds of hectares of ground.Chateau d'Aix consists of a main building with two apartments. Next to the Chateau there is an inner courtyard with several dependencies. The castle is located in a park of 1 ha. with a chapel, which has now been transformed into a holiday home. This can also be rented.The castle is located in a valley surrounded by forests (gorgeous walking area) in the village Saux. Besides its beautiful trees, there is an orchard which delivers tasty fruit in summer. The castle is located in full freedom and tranquillity, with views on Saux. The garden and the castle cannot be better described than by the French: c'est un bon mariage. There is another small apartment for 4 persons on the domain. The guests of this apartment may also use the swimming pool.The chapel (Chapelle) is a great typical Quercy-house made in stone and located in the park of the picturesque Château d’Aix. The Chapelle has been transformed into an ideal holiday home with the preservation of its original details.The Chapelle is fully detached and therefore offers maximum privacy. The garden is both sunny and sheltered and provides a petite vue sur le château in summer. There is a sitting corner under the cedar trees and there are loungers and a barbecue. This is a super romantic place where it seems the time stood still in a long forgotten past. Guests may use the swimming pool.
